Brexit, the Effect to America!

Three years ago this past summer the U.K.(United Kingdom) decided to leave the E.U.(European union). This was a big shock to most of the U.K. and E.U., after they decided to leave the Prime Minister decided to step-down because he was not in favor of Brexit. They held a vote for the new Prime Minister, which was voted to be Theresa May. Once, she took the role the process of Brexit began, also known as Article 50.

For the past three years, the U.K. have been discussing deals to leave the E.U. but whenever there is a vote always one side doesn't like the agreement and they have to create a new one. There have been two extensions but it still looks like the U.K. are getting no where with the deal. They might have to leave the E.U. with no deal and create one once they have left.

Present day, Theresa May has stepped down and the man who started the whole Brexit talk is now Prime minister, Boris Johnson. Boris really wants to get out of the E.U. as quickly as possible. They are holding a vote in December to vote in new parliament members, and depending on who gets control of parliament Brexit may or may not be completed.

Know to how America plays apart in all of this. The U.K. is one of Americas biggest trading partners. In 2018 U.S. goods and services trade with United Kingdom totaled an estimated $262.3 billion according to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. (Click here for article by CNBC). When the U.K. leaves the E.U. they are leaving the trade deal that the E.U. has with the U.S. which then will make it harder for the U.S. to trade with the U.K.. In the end this could cause a lot of economies in the U.S. to lose a lot of money. "The original Brexit vote caused the Dow Jones industrial average to drop by 5% or 6% in June 2016, and many U.S. economists thought Brexit could shave as much as 0.5 percentage points from the country’s GDP growth."(CNBC) With people predicting a stock market crash again, Brexit could play a part in that.

I will leave you with these questions. What do you think will happen to the economy in America once Brexit has happened? Do you think this could cause a little dip in the stock market in the U.S.? Finally, Do you think trade with the U.K. will still bring in a lot of profit.

Digital Currency is It worth It?

Earlier this year, Facebook had a hearing in front of the senate. This hearing was to discuss the digital currency that Facebook wanted to create and start to use in the near future. This was a big thing for Facebook because one year ago, it came out that Facebooks information on the users had been breached. Many people lost trust with Facebook after this.
Digital Currency is starting to become a big thing around the world. Three years ago Bitcoin was the big digital currency of the world. Since then, Apple, Google, Walmart and Facebook have now joined the trend and is trying to get permission to get a patent for it. So far Apple have been the only company to get the go ahead, they have just recently put it into use with iOS 13. Facebook on the other hand have had a hard time trying to get there patent and go ahead to really start pushing it into use. They were called to have to pursued the Senate to get the go ahead. Facebook sent and executive to answer the questions. The main problem was many senators were bringing up the fact that Facebook had lost all its trust. Arizona's senator Martha McSally said"The core issue here is trust."(Click Here for full article). Facebooks response to this claim was they have gotten many trust worthy companies to govern the currency, the like of, PayPal, Visa and MasterCard. On the other hand a few senators were bringing up the point that with Facebook getting this currency they would be the first world-wide Digital Currency. This would be a great thing for America, they would look really for if they allowed for a world-wide currency. Facebook have now gotten the go ahead, they will most likely be bringing it into use in 2020.
This debate on Digital Currency will go on for awhile, with that said, I wonder what you think about Digital Currency? If Facebook puts this into use will you start using it? And How Long do you think it will take for money to become all Digital? Why?

Family History

My family is the first family on both my moms and dads side that has moved to America. We have only been here for 9 years. The rest of our family lives in either England or Germany, we don't have a very big family. When we first moved to America, we lived in Minnesota for three and a half years. Living in America is very different from living in England and China. It took a lot of time for us to adjust to the new way of life. After, leaving Minnesota we moved to Chicago. We have lived her for almost seven years now. In the time that we moved to Chicago, my moms brother moved to South Carolina. They were the second family to live in America. They only lived in South Carolina for 3 years, they couldn’t adjust to the new life in America so they ended up moving back to Germany where they live now. Living in America has brought some very great opportunities for our family. Even though there isn’t much history of out family in America, I am sure that now that we are here there will be a lot more to come.

Our middle names play a very big part in the history of our family. All of the kids on my moms side, so her and her two brothers have middle names that connect to the family past. My mom's middle name is Matilda, this connects to her dad's aunt. One of my uncles middle name is David, he got this because my gammys brother was very kind and helpful man so they decided to honor him. The other uncles middle name was Georg, this was my opas first name he is a highly respected physicist, so they decided to give him that as a middle name. Middle names run very far back in our family it is a tradition to make a middle name relate to someone that your relate too, and has done good in this world.  Our family may not have much history behind it but when it comes to middle names it is one of the great traditions.
